Bitesize FX
Short courses by Industry professionals

Unleash your creativity!

Who are we?

Hi! My name is Sally Alcott. I have been working in the film industry as a special makeup FX artist on some of the biggest films of the past two decades. I get asked all the time how I got into this industry and the truth is it took a lot of hard work!

I worked long hours (often for free in the beginning), networked, and continuously improved my skills in order to build a reputation and get a decent portfolio together.

Since I was twelve years old, I dreamed of creating creatures for film. However, this wasn't something taught in school and I struggled to find anyone who could guide me or even just discuss it with me until I reached university age.

This struggle inspired me to start these courses. My goal is to provide young individuals with an interest in film and prosthetic makeup the opportunity to gain some knowledge before committing to a three-year degree program or paying thousands for a private makeup school.

Through these bite-sized classes, I hope to give a glimpse into the skills needed for SFX makeup and offer the chance to ask industry professionals about all aspects of this career path.
